Redevelopment and Revitalization of an Industrial Site

25 Sixth Street will redevelop and revitalize an industrial site with the construction of 62 new affordable homes for families, improved streetscape along Sixth Street, and a walking path to the Silver Line Station providing for a better connection between the Station and Chelsea’s downtown core. The transit-oriented development will include 56 new units of mixed-income rental housing and 6 new homeownership units, to meet a growing need for affordable housing. Amenities will include a community room, a 4,000 SF outdoor public space on the second level, 40 parking spaces, common laundry facilities, and public bicycle parking. Mechanical systems include central energy recovery ventilation, all electric Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heating and cooling and a central, gas-fired domestic hot water plant. The development will be designed to meet the standards for Passive House certification.
