The 60,000 square foot Distillery North mixed-use building is one of the first multifamily Passive House buildings in New England. The building includes 28 residential units, a restaurant, lobby, and support spaces. The rigorous Passive House performance standard was met with a well-insulated and air-sealed envelope in combination with energy efficient mechanical systems. Peak heating loads were reduced by 85% compared to conventional construction. The super insulated development used merely 10% of the energy typically used by a new building of this scale.
